Determination of steel arch support distance for roadways under the open-pit mine: a case study at the Mong Duong Coal Mine (Vietnam)

Purpose. Nowadays, in Quang Ninh coalfield, the mining activity quarries is increasing. For this purpose, mine roadways are dug and supported. After dug, they mainly supported by steel arches. Statistics fact show that about 85 % of roadway support structure at underground coal mines arch made SVP profile. The purpose study to calculate determine a reasonable distance for located under open-pit ensure their stability safety exploitation. Methodology. In study, numerical simulation method was used. On basis Phase2 software geological conditions mine, authors established model pressure acting on select distance. Findings. considered different following rock mass 790 area Mong Duong Coal Mine, internal forces were also studied one-lane railway two-lane railways roadway.
